Birthday

For my birthday my husband took me to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire. This was my second time going. It is amazing how some of the people really get into dressing up. The neat part was when we were walking up to the entrance, a lady stopped us. She had four complementary tickets and was only going to use two. So we took the tickets she had, the only thing we had to pay for was parking. We enjoyed the day walking around and watched some of the shows. After Darryl took me to Black Angus for dinner. I enjoyed the day very much.

I'm still here

It seems like I haven't had a chance to just relax. I have been busy since Christmas and now is the only time it seems to have quieted down. We had Christmas which was nice. Then two weeks later we had stake conference, I was busy helping my husband get ready. We had a General Authority come and it was Elder James Hamula. I help my husband by copying the programs for Sunday, which took all of Saturday morning! He had extra meetings to go to. The nice part was on Saturday between priesthood and the adult session they had a dinner for the Stake Presidency and Elder Hamula, Temple Presidency and Mission counselor. My husband and I got to sit with Elder Hamula along with President McKeon, Amy and Sol Kewanekene. It was a nice experience. Found out that Elder Hamula and Darryl served in the same mission, when they went on their missions. Elder Hamula told us story about one of his daughters. He even asked Amy and I for our opinions which left both at first with nothing coming to our minds. Amy answered first and I thought I was off the hook but he asked me. By the time he asked me I had an impression in my mind as what to answer. The question he asked us "What do you think the concerns of the women of the Whittier stake are?" Working with the youth I have seen that they have a way harder set of challenges then when I was there age. It is frightening to see how the world has changed.

Catching up

The Holidays came and went so fast. I'm still trying to get my Christmas decorations put away. It didn't seem like I had them out for very long. I had a very nice Christmas and hope everyone else did. I can't believe we are getting ready to have Stake Conference already. So my husband is going to be busy with that and I will help him to get things ready. He was a big help to me with getting the packets for the teachers ready. This year is going to be interesting in primary with the new schedule. It makes it a little harder to get things ready for primary with the other ward still in the rooms. Hopefully it will mellow out. We got only one weekend to try it because we have stake conference next week. It's the way things go.

Christmas Tree

This has to be the fullest Christmas tree we have had. It is funny how each year we seem to get our trees at different places. Our first year was at Home depot, second Lowe's, we got two from Ralph's and this year we found our tree at Target. This one is so full that you have to walk to the side of the doorway. It is fun having a Christmas tree in the house. Wickett and Mischief do pretty good at avoiding the tree. Every once in a while I'll find Mischief around the bottom of the tree looking at it. He will leave when you tell him to. One day I was talking to my
Vet and she asked if I had a Christmas tree. I said yes, she then precede to tell me that she didn't because of her cat. She told me that one day she was looking at her tree and a branch was drooping. When she got closer she saw two eyes looking back at her. Her cat had climbed up into the tree. That made me wonder if we should but like I said Mischief has been good with the tree.

I can't believe how fast Christmas is coming.

Update

I thought I would take a break from preparing my sharing time. I have had a busy week since we got back. We had our Christmas program for church, the kids did a good. We got back from Utah safely. We had a nice Thanksgiving, it rained most of the day. We went to the St. George Temple to look at the Christmas lights. We also went to Kolob national park and took a drive towards Brian Head and found some snow. We took Wickett with us since my mom went with us, she is a babysitter for Wickett and Mischief when we go somewhere. Darryl's Aunt and cousin watched Mischief. Wickett was not too sure of the snow.
